The Production Scale Fermenter is built for large-scale microbial and cell cultivation under controlled conditions. It’s widely used in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, and agricultural industries for reliable and consistent bioprocessing. These fermenter systems typically range in capacity from 20 liters to over 1050 liters and are constructed using high-grade stainless steel (usually SS304 or SS316) to ensure durability, corrosion resistance, and easy sterilization. They come equipped with automated systems such as SIP (Steam In Place) and CIP (Clean In Place) for efficient sterilization and cleaning without disassembly.
The fermenter tanks integrate a sophisticated PLC or SCADA control system that allows precise monitoring and regulation of critical parameters like temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), agitation speed, and foam level. It includes advanced sensors such as pH probes, DO sensors, temperature probes, and pressure sensors, ensuring optimal growth conditions throughout the pilot scale fermentation process. Agitation is typically managed via top or bottom-mounted mechanical stirrers, and aeration is provided through spargers and gas flow meters to maintain adequate oxygen transfer rates.
